Having only just started with the company I haven't been out on site with my team as of yet. I work as an apprentice fitter in substations
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the people throughout the company from apprentice to management everyone is always willing to help.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have been developing on maths skills and the health and safety legislations.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well structured, we have been given so much support and are always communicated with so that we are kept in the loop with everything going on.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received a lot of support from everyone and they are always wanting to help and encourage everyone to reach out for support if they need it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have been receiving a lot if support. If I don't understand something they will always be open for questions to be asked and help to explain how to work through things.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think having someone open to help at any point makes transferring the skills that you learn into practice easier.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are many different extra-curricular activities that are available for everyone if they are wanting to be involved.

A vary caring and professional company have a massive focus on development and growing skills throughout. They always look for opportunities to for people to develop further and have many different pathways for everyone to take.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to SSE?
Always be yourself during interviews the people on the interview with you make it feel less intimidating. If you get the chance to apply for the company I highly recommend you take it, it's a company that will always look out for you and your development throughout the years.
