Work isn't great; no mind stimulating things involved, just drone work. Team are good but standards have dropped from management change. Tutor is fantastic and bubbly

5/5
I've developed my communication skills majorly and grown up mentally

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Due to covid, not as organized as i'd like and my tutor has multiple apprenticeships to manage, so I understand she can't be there for everyone at once. I'm content with it however.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Nothing at all, from team or managers. Tutor hasn't needed to yet so cannot gauge that one
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
haven't been enrolled long enough to gauge
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Iceland Frozen Foods to a friend?
No
Why?
The company is very tight with hours and wages; it's usually 2 staff members running a store at most times. Socially and mentally, this takes a toll on you. Also, expectations are the highest here out of any supermarket I've seen. While being deprived of a team, you're expected to work through breaks and deliver perfection. I would just recommend another supermarket personally. As a duty manager, I am treated as disposable; as expected with any corporate job, you're not of any value to them.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Iceland Frozen Foods?
Good for students and till staff, wouldn't pursue team leader role
