Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Firstly I do online picking so my day can start anywhere from 4 am to 6am,we pick all of these, pack and put them in crates, after this has finished I then start my role as retail assistant.
Where I stock shelves, help customers and do til duties, I usually finish about 2 pm.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy that I'm learning new skills and I'm taking ime out for myself to improve myself. It's very difficult at the moment with the coronvirus as our work load is tremendous, but all in all the program has enhanced my working day.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes I've learnt how to use the picking gun, how to receive deliveries, product recalls.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

At the moment it's well organised, Ive had a few trainers since I started but seem to be enjoying my latest one the best, she seems very organised. I think the programme is well structured.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I havnt received too much support from my employer, but I think this is due to the sheer amount of pressure that anyone working in retail at the moment with covid is facing. If things where different I think I would have the support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My trainer is very supportive and I know I can message her if need be
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think initially it gave be a great boost to make me want to progress in the company and ga e me confidence to want to learn new skills
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Would you recommend Iceland Frozen Foods to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Iceland has a very family orientated feel, you get looked after as long as you put the work in and want to be there! Staff are always friendly and I thing being a relatively small business compared to the major supermarkets, Iceland has that friendly small business feel. There's also lots of opportunities to progress if u want to.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Iceland Frozen Foods?
Just be prepared for hard work, team work and maybe early starts
