Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work in the Assurance department with PwC. This involves Auditing a variety of different clients from different industries. My day involves asking lots of questions and trying to learn as much as I can about the work I am covering in the Audit engagements. I get exposure with the client which is very insightful and fun to experience different businesses and new people.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Being able to experience university life and also having a work placement in between has been very enjoyable. It has helped me to put into practice the stuff we learn at university which will reduce the time it takes for me to become a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we have had to work remotely. This has helped to develop my presentation skills through the use of virtual communication platforms such as Google Meets. Following on from my first placement I believe my Audit technical capabilities have greatly improved.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is very well structured, when you are on placement you have a career coach and you will always have someone to shadow when you are doing client work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A lot of support was given to me during my placement. The people I worked with were very friendly and approachable. There is a positive and productive vibe to the workplace which is great for your development.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, absolutely. They have Yoga, Hockey, Football, Cycling, Chess and lots more. Also, if there is something you are interested in you can easily start a society within work if you wanted to! I did office Hockey and it was great fun. Similarly, they do hold socials which are great for networking and keeping in touch with your colleagues.
