Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Day to day, I start at 9am and work till 12, then an hour break, then work until 6. This would be a lot nicer in office but due to corona we are working remotely. I often had admin type tasks to do and lots of copy and pasting.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I like the people and it would have been better in office, but given the circumstances it was enjoyable.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Yes I developed lots of technical audit skills which will be helpful in the future. I also became a better communicator as I was working in team based engagements but frome home.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I think it is fairly well structured but more information should be given in advance to ensure we know what the aim of the placement is from the start. The coaches should also be clearer when they need us to do something.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
The support networks, buddies, career coaches and other flying start students are all helpful.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Not a lot on my first placement as the university deals more with this. However it doesn't really apply to me.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
NA
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are a lot.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Lots of pay, nice staff and easy going work atmosphere. However you still learn lots and get the experience you need.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Keep in contact with your support networks, ask them what you need to do and when to do it by, well in advance. Keep a journal of the work you have done so you can collect feedback from engagement leaders.
