Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Involves helping out and working within an audit team, performing tasks to do with preparing the audit, substantive testing, test of details and analytical procedures. Usually have a call early in the day with the team/in-charge to preview what we'll be doing. Then we get onto the task, ask any questions when necessary, have lunch then have a catch up with the team at the end of the day to review and ask any questions.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt many new skills in terms of getting to know PwC's systems, how the audit process works, many new fundamental accounting skills that will help with my studies. However, quite a few soft skills as well, teamworking, networking with staff in different teams and interacting with clients, which helped build my confidence and communication skills. The constant need for training and self-assessment helped me to perform better and improve on my weaknesses.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Excellent company culture that makes you feel comfortable straight away. Fellow staff members are friendly and always happy to answer questions. The work is engaging and rewarding as you're working on big, meaningful clients, you feel like you're making a difference. The culture of team-first ensures you're never alone and someone is always there for a chat if you need it. Even as a flying start with no previous experience, everyone is patient and you feel included.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Put yourself out there and demonstrate skills that you've developed from previous experiences. It's not just about qualifications but about how you can develop them to create meaningful work. Work hard and be confident in the interview and you'll be fine, make sure to speak up in the group activity but don't speak over people as you'll appear dominant and PwC employs a team first collaborative approach. Research the company before applying.
