Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Auditing - Looking at client's Financial Statements and working with a team to test their balances and ensure everything is true and fair. This is usually done by template on a spreadsheet which has procedures and guidelines/instructions included in it. Speak with clients to fill in these spreadsheets and find evidence to ensure the tested numbers are accurate.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Very good because get first hand real work experience and work as basically an associate in a Big 4 professional services firm. Thoroughly enjoy having the responsibilities and learning and working above what I would expect myself to be capable of.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Communication with clients, Professional skepticism

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well organised, manage to fit 4 Uni's in around 10s of offices around the country all year long
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
As much as I need. Can leave you to it if you want but also provide you with a Career coach who can help in any/every situation. Coaching is just embedded in the working structure so you always have someone to help you.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
It is at University so it's a perfect learning environment, qualified lecturers and Module convenors so the learning is of the highest calibre at a Top 20 UK ranked University.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Amazingly well, all the fundamentals required to be able to carry out the role are taught at University, for example all the fundamentals and basics of accounting as well as the more in depth technical topics which are covered later on in the course which will help further on in a more higher role at PwC.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are always networking events going on and socials to participate in. There are usually quizzes going on weekly and there is huge encouragement to get involved.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Big 4 Professional Services firm, easy to fit in, flexible working, exposure to huge clients and a range of types of work. Heavily invested in local areas and helping the community, loads of different areas to eventually transfer into if you like.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Have confidence, try your best, take your time. Prepare in advance, research your role, research the company, re-read your application, familiarise yourself with your CV, be honest! If you are open about what you want/need/prefer, PwC will accommodate to that and if they can't then it wouldn't be the ideal place for you to work.
