Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My role involves a lot of software testing so on a day to day basis I create and run a variation of tests depending on what the requirements are.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I do enjoy the programme though I do find it very stressful, there’s a lot of work to be done through the week and uni work in the evenings/weekends which leaves little time for much else, it can take over sometimes.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have developed a lot of work related skills such as testing and cybersecurity knowledge, but also social skills such as speaking in a group setting and sharing my thoughts with others, which is a big thing as I am so shy!

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
In my opinion it is fairly well structured though there could be improvements in the university-work relations as there are many things I feel like the uni should be telling my employers that I often have to find out for myself and inform my employers.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
The support from my employer is very fair with uni related situations such as study leave etc, could probably do with a little bit more support within work as I always have lots of questions but the support is there - it can just feel a little bit tedious having to often bother the same person over and over, I think it’d be good to have lots more resources around the workplace so that I’d feel like less of a nuisance?
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
I receive support with things such as study leave (I am slowed up to 5 days per set of examination though I must match this with my own holiday allowance) but there is no help with the work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My qualification helps me to understand the basics and background knowledge of many applications at work - work provides me with a hands on experience of all the things I’m studying in a real workplace
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are not many social events, but lots of extra sports activities such as running and yoga.
