Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
When on placement, I assisted with the team's work in the attestation process for the bank to maintain its AIRB status from the PRA. I also got the chance to sit-in and take minutes at high-level management meetings. My manager was also able to get me a few weeks working on a more technical project for the retail banking modelling teams.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, taking minutes at a high-level management meeting was a big responsibility, even though my manager was able to guide me along the way. Was also able to draft important spreadsheets and presentations for the team to use in their work.

Greatly developed communication skills and experience working with a diverse group of people, from other interns to high-level senior managers within the bank. Significant exposure to Excel and remote working tools.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Lots of support and guidance. All I needed was to reach out to my manager or other team members, everyone was incredibly helpful and fun to work with.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Even with the remote nature of the internship, the general atmosphere was great for me to find my feet and get support when needed. I was also given the respect to manage my own time, which massively helped my productivity, and allowed me to work in my own space.
