Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Travelling to sites across the north west, diagnosing and servicing problems within the plant rooms and engineering solutions to allow the optimum use of our products for temperature control and comfort within buildings. Hands on and computer based work is balanced across the day and the engineers we are paired with always teach us lots of new things everyday.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I love the program as this allow us to develop our career and progress through our education at the same time. The balance of working, training and studying is perfect and allows us to stay competent in each area. The employees the company are phenomenal and support you through any issues, we always work as a team and the group of apprentices have formed a strong bond to overcome any issues we have.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt lots of new skills from starting this job role. I have been exposed to lots of different training courses that allow me to develop my skills when presenting meetings, working safely on site and working with Schneider's products. In depth training is always needed to allow us to work safely and efficiently. I have developed a lot of social skills from networking with other employees.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The program is very structured and allows our development to stay equal in every area. The working week is ended with a study day for university and allows us to complete our lectures. This balance works very well and is a very efficient way of working. We have different placements throughout the year and work with lots of different engineers to learn skills off them all.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive lots of support in different forms from my employer, at Schneider we have an amazing Apprenticeship scheme where you are paired with Engineers and work closely with the apprentice career developers to monitor progress and resolve any problems you might be facing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have been given huge amounts of help with working towards my degree at Schneider. I have been lucky to have been supported through my Dyslexia screenings and work have taken this into account and moved things around in order to help me with my struggles.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I think all of the in house training and external training / degree has helped massively at Schneider. I have been able to go on courses that have assisted me in my Field Services role as well as when working in our remote services office.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
We are able to do external networking events and attend careers fairs and awards evenings very regularly. This is one of the best parts of the job as I get to share my experiences with other students who might be looking to join the company.
