Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
I will be buying in parts for our workshop on-site ready for any services or repairs to the vehicles we book in.
I will look at the diary of what vehicles are booked into the workshop over the next couple of days, then locate and purchase what parts might be needed for the repair or service.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
I would've much preferred to spend my time concentrating on my work here, instead of gaining an apprenticeship.
However regardless to the apprenticeship company, I highly enjoy working here at Vertu Motor's.
My team I work with is great as well as the company itself is an enjoyable place to work.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
This has happened by answering customer calls and inquiries, face-to-face customers who are interested in any accessories for their car, or need a certain part for their vehicle to be fixed.
As well as gaining skills relating to my role at the parts department, learning about different parts on the vehicles we have and where they are located.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
The training, studying and tasks given was a complete waste of my time.
The mentors continued to give any help if needed and were helpful if you need any assistance.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
I was always given support by my tutor if I had any questions, they always guided me in the direction that I needed to be with working towards my apprenticeship.
However I did not enjoy working with my training provider, very boring.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
There is nothing that I have learnt at Learning Skills Partnership which has been put into practice at work.
I feel that the training I received from Learning Skills Partnership does not increase my knowledge about the industry and job role I work in.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
I do participate in lots of social activities outside of work however.
