Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Apprentice machinist, full time college at first year, learn how to use all of the necessary machines which I will be using at rolls Royce in the factory. Second year we have one day a week in college and the rest of the week we spend in rolls Royce factory where we learn how to become a rolls Royce machinist and how to operate within the company as part of the rolls Royce work force
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the programme a lot and am glad I got this apprenticeship as it feels great to be able to do something I enjoy everyday.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to operate cnc milking machines, cnc turning machines, lathes, milking machines, grinding machines, how to look at and draw engineering drawings.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is well organised and well structured, a shame that Covid 19 knocked some of the structure and organisation but everything is going as well as it can in the current circumstances.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive plenty of support.
