Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Assisting in fitting operations by either stipping or building engines/modules of engines. Completing writeups about my practical work, and completing knowledge questions.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I enjoy my programme when there is work for me to complete, unfortunately it can be quite slow at times.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
yes, I am slowly developing my resourcefulness, my ingenuity and team working, as well as social skills as I'm constantly working with new people.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
not very :/
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I have an Apprentice Development Leader (ADL) who looks after me and makes sure I have everything I need for my job, he also checks in on me and reminds me of thing to help if I ever need them.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
I have yet to receive any, but that is because I havnt been started on my NVQ yet
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The qualification (when I am completing it) will give me a better understanding of how the different bits of the company work, and how they fit together, mean I have more appreciation for getting jobs done quickly and efficiently as not to hold up another section.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There is a charity group that does various events for charity, such as cycling or abseiling. I have joined them once or twice.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Rolls-Royce to a friend?
No
Why?
On paper, This apprenticeship looked amazing, but in reality, I've been messed about too much, apart from my recent ADL who I truly think cares, it doesn't seem like anyone else does. Communication seems like a struggle for them, I never know whats happening or am somehow left out. I still really enjoy the job I do, but I worry if I didn't that I'd be long gone.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Rolls-Royce?
make sure ur know ur stuff at least a bit, be confident, and if you get it, be forgiving, patient, but know when to start hassling people if it gets slow or doesn't start moving
