Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My role on a day to day requires fixing, fitting, assembling, machining and maintaining machinery, whilst under going training and a qualification with Derby College.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I enjoy it, however it is extremely challenging I feel too much is compacted into each year and the work load becomes unmanageable if you want to achieve the highest grades.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt many new skills, which has given me the confidence to undertake these skills within my own home.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
Not very, always being given work which doesn't align to our program. Also training providers are not organised, to the point where we have 6 days notice before an exam.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
I feel like there isn't much support on offer, there's no one you can turn to if you have a problem, and people like ADL's have too much on there plate to worry about you as an indivdual.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
Absolutely none. Your qualification comes down to how much you teach yourself from the internet. You can ask for help but it is never provided as class sizes are too big.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It helps me understand the theoretical side.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
I would hope there would be more as there is rugby and football for boys.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Rolls-Royce to a friend?
No
Why?
It is extremally challenging, too much is crammed into a year. There isn't enough support for your questions and problems. Facility's for girls are lacking in the business.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Rolls-Royce?
Make sure your ready to work hard from the first minute. If you have ALS then this isn't supported at its best, it could be better accommodated.
