Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Basically we started off going to derby everyday doing college at the LDC and we would complete our NVQ in the workshop which had many machines for us to gain experience on. This varied from hand tools to CNC milling machines.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I enjoy being in the business. I enjoy the fact that there's plenty of very knowledgeable people and they are great to have a laugh with.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I've learnt a lot of skills. This including taking your time to get the best result. I've learn skills of managing my own mental health such as not getting worked up when things are stressful.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The structure to the apprenticeship could be improved massively. For the second year of my apprenticeship, we are supposed to have gotten nvq assessors in which I and a few others havent been assigned one. Within the apprenticeship alot of things change during your time for example you could be told there's a meeting and when you get there you find out it's been cancelled.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I could not fault rolls royce when it comes to support. I got a free diagnosis for a learning disability which I've heard costs rolls royce around £400. I was given more support with rolls royce than I was given at school!
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
Half and half, they give me 25% extra time with exams and assessments. The tutors are fantastic set of people, however throughout my time I've noticed 4 tutor changes as in tutors leaving.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
They teach us very knowledgeable information in which they tell you stories and give a personal approach which in turn gets us all to listen.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I don't get involved however I've heard there are things such as stem projects and world skills
