Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
One week we have college in the training centre, then in the business I work in EOS (engine overhaul services) so I repair and service RR engines which are currently in service. This involves stripping and then building the engines.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy working in EOS as each day is different and each engine is different. So the jobs are never repetitive and there is always something new.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes! I have learnt many new skills. I have started my main first placement on the 08 module so have primarily been learning how to strip and build that specific module.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
There are monthly apprentice forum meetings in EOS then reviews with our ADL’s every 6 weeks which help communicate our uncertainties. However sometimes I feel some information especially regarding our NVQ’s was miss communicated as there was a period of time where management thought we had our NVQ however we didn’t.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Lots of support. There is always so many opportunities to raise concerns in a safe environment.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
There are reviews every 6 weeks to track our progress with college and our NVQ. And we will have assessors once we have been aligned to them.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualification with college gives you background knowledge for in the business enabling a better understanding when facing new challenges in the business.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
I have helped out with open evening events on several occasions.
