In my role on a day to day basis as a practical apprentice I can find myself either working in a workshop learning some new practical skills or in the classrooms gaining some new knowledge about the industry.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I always enjoy my days at work as I find the whole field very interesting. It puts everything into perspective when you get the chance to go around all the different work shops and get to see all the different parts and the sizes of the engines.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned many new skills since I have began this journey, from engine dress, to hand fitting and even gaining some new knowledge about the aerospace industry. There are many new opportunities that are given to us and many extra curricular things for us to be getting on with meaning you’ll never be bored.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

In terms of organisation when it comes to work you’ll always find that there is a helping hand whenever you need it. The days are structured very well allowing you to always get your work done without pushing you too far to the edge with stress.

You can always get support whenever you need it. Everyone is always more than happy to help with whatever you may need.

They are incredibly supportive with the qualification, of you ever feel like you need some help you can always find it.

The training helps you to gain that confidence that you need before you can go out into the business which is very important as you need these essential skills to help you in your career.

Why?
Rolls Royce is such a good company to work for they are so supportive and are always putting their employees first. You can feel proud wearing the top and you will always have that wanting to come to work feeling.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Rolls-Royce?
I would say that make sure you work hard as this is an opportunity that a lot of people would love to have so don’t waste it. You can secure yourself a really good career in a great company.
