my job role requires me to meet customer basic financial needs. we are there to complete transactions and answer queries involving their banking needs.

i have expanded my communication skills and developed my team working skills. i have learnt an extensive amount of information regarding the financial sector which helps me with my background knowledge

How well organised/structured is your programme?

as a company, it is very well structured, previously on a branch level, my line manager wasnt very helpful and had very little knowledge regarding the apprenticeship scheme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

i received support from my employer after i had made a complaint regarding my experience in the first year and a bit of doing my apprenticeship. i had voiced my concerns prior to going on maternity leave but they didnt seem to reach any higher than my line manager. once i had returned from maternity leave i had recieved the best support than i ever had.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

in the 1st year and a half, the support i received from my training provider was an utter disgrace. I felt that i was forgotten about by him, and the communication that i received was barely existent. i had voiced my concerns and wished to make a complaint, directly to him, he apologised for his behaviour and then i didnt hear from him again. once i had returned from maternity leave, i had been assigned a new talent coach and she was amazing.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

my qualification helps me to perform better as my knowledge is extensive and i am able to help customers to understand financial services better and feel that having the knowledge behind me helps me to be more confident in my role

Yes
Why?
because they are a good company to work for, through working with them there are benefits such as private healthcare, life assurance etc
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barclays?
have a little background knowledge before jumping into a role.
only apply if you have a genuine interest in financial services as it can be boring sometimes.
make sure you know what your apprenticeship entails and be aware of how much hard work and dedication it takes.
dont be so hard on yourself as you arent going to always know everything as it changes all the time
