Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Role changes every few weeks, generally just learning different roles within workplace and then putting what I’ve learnt into practice. Roles vary from being very involved and running big machines dealing with parts for very luxurious cars, to tidying and applying stickers to floors.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Most aspects of the job are enjoyable, there are certain parts which aren’t as good but that’s usually due to the people rather than the task itself. The college course is very enjoyable though.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Many new skills are learnt in every different role I do, varying from the start of the process with raw veneer to polishing and making sure finished parts are flawless.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Well structured on paper, when put into practice not everything is as smooth as it would seem, miscommunication is the main problem.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Why?
Overall working at RRMC as an apprentice is a very worthwhile experience, there is lots to learn about building the most luxurious car in the world, most staff are friendly and happy to help you.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
Be sure you’re ready to commit to the apprenticeship, there are times when the workload is heavy and times when you get to really stand back and learn a skill through watching and then doing, you will work like a full time emloyee at times running big machines and dealing with parts that require nothing but perfection. You will make mistakes and they understand this.
