As a Barclays Relationship Support Manager, you’ll play a key role in our Corporate – Client Coverage team. You’ll maintain and develop relationships with a portfolio of corporate customers, dealing with a range of requests in a personal and professional way. You’ll be member of an established and collaborative team and will work with stakeholders across the bank, furthering your skills and experience in client, business and risk management.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The job itself is brilliant, the colleagues, team members, stakeholders, clients and friends you'll meet are invaluable and the experience is absolutely amazing. The educational provider is also amazing, providing support where ever necessary and willing to help whether you contact by telephone or email.
However what lets the program down is the HR team who do not seem to know what they are doing and poor IT systems denying access to necessary systems.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The HR team needs to communicate more effectively, arrange rotations more effectively and stop limiting progression when rolling off the actual program. You will start as a client service executive for one year and then progress to a relationship support manager for two years, after learning skills, obtaining qualifications and experience in the relationship support manager role, the roles ear marked for you will be a relationship support manager as the HR team do not feel as though you have the skills to progress further. Even if you do decide to apply for the relationship support manager the HR team will talk to the Hiring manager and ask that they don't progress your application in place of someone on the graduate scheme. If I've done the role for two years surely progression into another role is more suitable, especially financially. This part of the program has not been well thought out. I have recently secured a role and will be finishing in November of this year.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Barclays is a fantastic employer for support generally, however please be aware that line managers will do everything in their power to convince you not to take your appointed study dates and instead work when you have an exam or piece of coursework coming up. The HR team is not clear with their communication and it will lead to confusion.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The learning provider is brilliant, they have provided help whenever i have asked for it, they have taken on advice and feedback and assisted me in my learning. I would recommend the learning provider for anyone looking to apply for this program.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification provides a general understanding and helps you think outside of the box when dealing with clients in order to effectively help them.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Honestly the company has some brilliant extra curricular activities however you will not have the time on this program to join if you wish to obtain a decent to good grade.

Why?
The level of pay is unsuitable for london, if you are living at home with your parents and have no expenses or bills then sure this program is good, however if you have expenses but still want to create a better life for yourself through education then avoid this program.
The communication between HR and those on the program is lackluster, they change policies and agreements at the drop of a hat and will not try to find a solution with you stating that there is nothing that they can do.
