I have a lovely team that I always enjoy seeing. My day-to-day role involves responding to customer emails and phone calls, heading up team projects and studying towards my apprenticeship.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

My team and customers are very fun to work with. I have built great friendships and am able to have a lot of fun during the day. The job can be stressful, especially as it is my first full-time job. It has taken a lot of development and owning up to my mistakes.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have already learnt so many skills that help me in other parts of my life and will be very useful in future job roles. Not only do we learn skills directly related to our job, we are also taught and encouraged to develop on ourselves in ways we choose.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

NatWest is organised and the Apprenticeship team gives us a lot of support. BPP is not as organised and I feel that this does have a slight detriment on my program.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My line managers and team members have been extremely supportive with me when learning my role and giving me the time I need to study and develop. They even support me with the other projects that I want to take on. The apprenticeship team is also great at supporting us whenever we need them. We have a good network with other apprentices in the other teams so that we can support eachother.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My coach is lovely and able to help me with direct questions but the whole program is a bit all over the place so I am not really sure what we are supposed to be doing.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It does teach us relevant skills that can help with the role and personal development but the activities don't always seem completely relevant.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are always networking events that we can get involved in, including chats with our CEO, Womens Network and more. We also have plenty of social events within our team which really helped me get to know everyone outside of the office.

Would you recommend NatWest Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a great place to work, especially as an apprentice. This is because we get so many perks and are treated like valuable members of the team. People see us as the future of the bank and it really shows.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
Make sure you are applying for a role that you really believe in. There are so many different apprenticeships in different teams so look around to see if there is somethin suitable for you. Think about what you can bring to the team.
