Vacation Scheme Intern Review

During a day at Latham, we were given several talks where we were able to gain insight into the firm’s practice areas and ask senior lawyers questions. This served as both an educational and networking opportunity, and was immensely helpful in laying the foundations of our legal and commercial knowledge.
We were also tasked with a research task each week across our respective seats. After a first draft, we were given feedback by a supervisor, which allowed us to learn from their experience and respond to their comments.

It was incredibly helpful to hear about the career progression at Latham. The recruitment team was amazing at setting us all at ease while explaining the timeline moving forward.

Having come from a non-law background, I really appreciated the opportunity to gain more experience in legal research and drafting.
Likewise, the case studies we undertook with partners at talks gave me a better understanding of the financial and commercial motivations that a lawyer must consider.

The atmosphere at Latham was incredibly welcoming. My supervisors both made me feel incredibly at home and supported - I felt able to ask questions and learn from them throughout. Likewise, other lawyers were always very willing to go for coffee chats, making networking both incredibly relaxed and genuinely enjoyable.

I greatly enjoyed my vacation scheme. Our cohort of interns was lovely - as were the lawyers at the firm - and I really did feel that I learnt a lot and had a really valuable experience.
