Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
I was given a range of tasks to complete which varied from admin tasks to legal research to be used for client work. I attempted to draft letters to clients and to the other side's solicitors conveying our position on several matters and attended a number of firm-led sessions. Everyone was really friendly and made me feel very welcome.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was really interesting to see the practicalities of the role of a solicitor and the constant interactions with colleagues and clients. Seeing the theory I learn in university be translated in a practical setting was really interesting and the different avenues to becoming qualified. The experience gave me a better insight into the culture and friendliness of the firm and confirmed it as a place I would like to work.

Yes
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pinsent Masons LLP
Tailor your application specifically to the firm and try to be yourself as it helps you stand out. I would keep up-to-date on the news so you can be prepared to answer questions relating to how the news affects law firms and their wider client base.
In terms of the scheme, have a really open mind and enthusiastic attitude and have a go at the tasks - you're not expected to know everything. Also, focus on the social conversations with your team as well as the professional so you can build a rapport.
