Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Customer Service: I interact directly with customers, assisting them with vehicle rentals, returns, and addressing any questions or concerns to ensure a positive experience.
Sales: I learn how to identify customer needs and promote additional products and services, such as insurance coverage or vehicle upgrades.
Fleet Management: I help manage the branch’s fleet by coordinating vehicle preparation, conducting vehicle inspections, and ensuring cars are clean, fueled, and ready for use.
Administrative Tasks: I assist with paperwork, contracts, and data entry to maintain accurate records and support branch efficiency.
Team Work: I work closely with branch managers and team members, gaining insight into leadership, problem-solving, and the daily operations that drive business success.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
This required me to demonstrate excellent attention to detail when inspecting vehicles for damage, cleanliness, and fuel levels, as well as strong time management to coordinate pick-ups and drop-offs efficiently.
Being given this level of responsibility has helped me develop greater independence, reliability, and the ability to handle tasks that directly impact the company’s reputation and customer satisfaction.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
In addition to communication, I have developed strong problem-solving skills by handling unexpected challenges, such as last-minute vehicle availability issues or customer complaints, and finding quick, effective solutions. I have also enhanced my teamwork and collaboration abilities by working closely with my branch team to meet targets and ensure smooth operations.
Finally, I’ve gained practical business management skills, including time management, multitasking, and an understanding of sales techniques and fleet logistics. These experiences have helped me become more confident, organised, and customer-focused in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
In addition, my internship coordinator at head office provides regular check-ins and feedback, ensuring that I am staying on track with my learning goals and have the resources I need to succeed. This supportive environment makes me feel valued as part of the team and motivates me to take on new challenges with a positive attitude.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Colleagues at all levels — from fellow interns to assistant managers and the branch manager — are approachable, encouraging, and always willing to offer help or advice when needed. This collaborative environment made it easy to ask questions, learn new skills, and feel comfortable taking on new responsibilities.
Overall, the strong sense of teamwork and respect among employees creates a workplace where people genuinely get on well with one another, making each day enjoyable and motivating.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
This active, hands-on environment suits me well because it means I’m constantly learning and developing new skills in real-life situations. The variety and pace make the workday go quickly, and the supportive team makes it an enjoyable place to be. Overall, my internship has been a great experience, and I feel motivated and positive about the work I do every day.

What advice would you give to others applying to Enterprise Mobility
I’d also recommend researching the company’s values and culture beforehand. Enterprise really values teamwork, good communication, and a positive attitude, so be prepared to give examples of when you’ve worked well in a team or gone the extra mile for a customer.
Finally, don’t be afraid to ask questions during your interview — it shows genuine interest and helps you understand if the role is a good fit for you. If you’re open-minded, hard-working, and eager to learn, you’ll make the most of the experience and get a lot out of it.
