Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
I worked alongside a senior associate and paralegal assisting with creating folders for proofs, reviewing documents an joining meetings. I was also able to attend the firm's Liability Forum which provided great insight into Insurance law. Due to the contentious nature of my team, I was also able to join them at court for proof.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I was able to ask anyone their roles and how they got to where they are. Everyone was more than happy to answer questions and offer advice. I was also interested to see may different routes to and from the firm and how the firm supported that.

I have had the opportunity to develop several key legal skills, such as research, case management, note taking and attention to detail. I have also gained even more skills in communication, initiative and confidence.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very friendly and supportive. Everyone introduced themselves and felt generally approachable. There was always someone to ask questions to and supervisors were very understanding of any personal or professional circumstances which arose.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Clyde & Co LLP
To have an interest in Delict/Tort as the firm is so heavily insurance based. Really take the opportunity to network and ask for advice from people here, as well as learn about their career paths as there are so many successful cases which have come from the firm. The firm culture is huge, so ensure you show personality and be yourself, I don't think they'd want someone robotic.
