Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Designing electrical systems such as Streetlighting, Wifi, Lighting Controls, lux levels and being involved in Control System work and a smidge of mechanical work.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes. Completed glovebox control systems to be used throughout testing. Completed Streetlighting doing cable routes and panel design. Began planning Wi-Fi cable routes.

Developed Communication, Confidence, Accountability, Commitment to standards as well as creativity.
Learnt new software such as AVEVA, AutoCAD, Vault, Cimage, Navisworks and DIALux.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

A lot. Definitely had a lot of support throughout the year. With a mentor, a buddy, a manager and line manager, on top of the IP coordinators and a large supportive team, I had plenty of support.
