Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Maintaining Applications for the business including process flows and SharePoint sites such as ensuring customers can put through requests which will be approved or rejected by the business team
Managing Changes in ServiceNow when a change is made within our system
Granting access to systems in which customers may need
Removing access when people move to other business units
SQL Queries - creating power bi reports with these queries
Using Jira to track work and communicate new projects

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given responsibility from the day i started which is a very good thing. This allowed me to develop my skills and own the applications i was in charge of maintaining. It built trust with managers and i developed hard and soft skills. I know how to maintain different applications outside of the company which is quite useful when you leave and can apply to personal use as well as university.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Lots of support from management, managers were great to work with and also pushed you to your potential making you do more work in which you probably thought you couldnt. Everyday support which made the job easier from all colleagues worldwide as well as line manager. Everyday we would have huddle calls to discuss our work and progress, as well as any items we need help on so great 10/10 support

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Great company culture, would not want to leave cummins if it was up to me
everyone is lovely no matter where you go, atmosphere is great too, very calm and relaxed and no strict expectations. Cummins is a very innovative and great company to work for whether you are looking for a job in finance, IT, engineering or others. They suit to your needs and understand you too

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I very much enjoyed the experience however i wish there were more social events in the office workplace. Hope they can improve this but also challenging work was quite demanding. However with support i grew to enjoy these more and also improve these processes myself. I did enjoy it and quite sad to leave but hoping others can learn from this too. Overall 5/5

Yes
What advice would you give to others applying to Cummins
Be yourself, dont be afraid to talk or say your ideas, inclusive managers and make your life easier which is great. Not many companies may do this but i think the managers are helpful and genuine so apply. There is no downside of working for Cummins. Ensure your CV is precise and specific. Be bold in your interviews with examples. Open to networking
