Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As part of the General Ledger team, I supported key financial processes including month-end close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and internal controls. The placement provides hands-on exposure to corporate accounting systems and standards such as SOX compliance.
I worked closely with finance professionals, gaining insights into the financial operations of a multinational company, while developing both technical accounting knowledge and professional workplace skills such as communication, time management, and attention to detail.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at Cummins Ltd. It provided a valuable opportunity to apply the knowledge from my degree in a real-world setting while gaining insight into the operations of a global business. I especially appreciated the supportive team environment, the variety of tasks I was involved in, and the emphasis on personal development. The experience has significantly strengthened my confidence, technical skills, and interest in pursuing a career in finance.
