Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I work on various project from power platform, to coding in SQL. I have supported projects from an IT standpoint but also lead projects using full stack development. Standard day can involve working on these project while also having meetings discussing how these are going, we use agile for our project management, so this means i will talk to the whoever im working on the project for a lot to get to the desired outcome.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, i have been given a lot of responsibility and trust. Many projects i have been able to work on my own given myself the choice to try and make the right decisions, although if I have ever been unsure the team is always there to help and given guidance whenever needed.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Yes, i have learnt lots of skills from, coding in SQL, VBA and inside Power Platforms. Also great presenting skills while showing my work to customers. While working on team projects I've enhanced my team working skills. As we use oracle applications I have had great exposure to this as well.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Loads, as I'm a business student at University lots of my IT skills and knowledge wasn't great, however my team has always been great in helping me while also allowing me to learn lots and get great overall exposure. If the task and help needed is big or small there is always someone to help me and take the time out of their busy days to provide support.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
At Cummins i feel that there is a great culture and general atmosphere. Everyone always has a smile on there face and is willing to help and give support. People are always looking out of each other and will always check in on you, always willing to have a chat anytime of the day.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I have enjoyed my placement well above any expectations that i had going into it. I was definitely nervous coming in as it would be the first time i had worked a traditional office 9-5 so i was not sure how it would go. But as a placement everyone has been great. I also have enjoyed everything outside the office we got up such as running our own alotement on site.

Just to throw yourself into every opportunity that get thrown your way, as there will be a lot. Its a great place to work you get to meet lots of amazing people, so if you have the chance to work here you should take it and make the most of your time here as it does fly by.
