Spring Insight Week Review

During my time working with my mentor at Savills, I have been involved in a range of tasks designed to enhance my understanding of the property industry and real estate development. I was initially tasked with creating a presentation on the White City area, focusing on recent developments Savills has been working on. This provided me with valuable prior knowledge ahead of a site visit, allowing me to gain a clearer perspective on the projects in the area. Additionally, I completed a pricing exercise, where I was asked to determine the value of different floors in a building based on price per square metre. This task deepened my understanding of how factors such as floor location and building orientation can significantly impact property values. I was also asked to compile a report on current market trends within the property sector, which helped to expand my commercial awareness and provide a broader view of the industry. Finally, I attended team meetings, where I observed how the business operates on a day-to-day basis and the importance of communication and collaboration across teams.
