Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
The program involved gaining insight into how markets operate and understanding the firm’s community and culture through speaker panels and talks. We had the chance to shadow multiple desks throughout the week and take part in trading simulations.

I received a lot of support during the program. Everyone I met on the desks was really open and willing to help—I was able to ask questions, and they were happy to take time out of their day to explain things and help me understand how everything works.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Citi had a really supportive and welcoming culture. People were genuinely willing to help me learn and took the time to explain things clearly. It felt like a place where asking questions was encouraged, and everyone wanted to help me get the most out of the experience.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed the program. It was a great mix of learning, hands-on experience, and getting to speak with people across different areas of the firm. The trading simulations and desk shadowing made it especially engaging, and the supportive atmosphere made the whole experience even better.

What advice would you give to others applying to Citi
My advice would be to be yourself, stay curious, and be open to learning. Show a genuine interest, ask questions, and try to absorb as much as you can - people really appreciate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
