Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The first 2 days involved talks and panels from senior members of the banks' divisions and from the recruitment teams, as well as from analysts who had previously done the spring and summer internship. We networked with other spring analysts over breakfast and lunch. On the third and fourth day we networked with senior members of our division, which was a great opportunity to learn more about the division. We also met our buddies on the second day, and we shadowed them on the third day. This was my favourite part of the programme as it enabled us to get insight of the day-to-day work they do. We had an assessment centre panel and talk, both valuable for th next stages of our application.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was exciting to see all the different areas and bank divisions! It was also inspiring to see the spring intern' passion for the different areas! After learning about the potential roles available, I was more confident that I had made the right decision in applying to the division I applied for!

I learnt how to network effectively with my peers and those in more senior positions. I also learnt about what the different divisions of the bank do, and the skill sets needed for all of these different areas.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was very friendly. From the HR team to the buddies we were assigned and those we met on the desks, everyone was happy to answer questions openly. It was also an inspiring place to be in, as all the interns were passionate about their business areas, and we're excited to learn more. This is the same doe the divisions and desks we sat at, it was an inspiring and ambitious environment which was amazing to be part of

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I enjoyed it very much. Firstly, I feel a lot more well informed on my chosen business area, corporate banking. This was provided by the buddies, the HR team. Secondly, I thoroughly enjoyed the events that were in place that enabled us to network with the other interns. It was an inspiring and fun experience, that I know we all enjoyed!

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Citi
Go in with an open mind! I think having few expectations really made this a great experience for me as I was happily surprised by how great the culture and people were there! Ask plenty of questions too, as well as the firm liking you, it is equally important that you are a good fit for the firm!
