Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
We had the opportunity to learn about the roles from each division through panels with bankers from all levels. Additionally, we were provided with practice sessions for the Summer Internship assessment center. Finally, we were given the unique opportunity to shadow our buddies as they worked in our teams of interest, providing detailed insights into their daily role.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was very insightful to see first-hand the work done by every business area through discussions with people at all levels. I felt part of a team and was given all the resources needed to succeed in the role.

I developed and learn new skills. I improved my critical thinking, attention to detail, presentation (verbal and written). I learnt how to analyze data in Bloomberg and how to develop a case study in banking environments.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture was extremely collaborative and team driven. Everyone is given a lot of opportunities to grow professionally and personally. This was evident in the employee retention and the opportunities encouraged in work and geographical mobility.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Citi
I would recommend to improve their people skills and truly be interested in the role. Citi provides all the opportunities to acquire technical knowledge but they must do their homework on the business area and show soft skills which most people do not have. This is how the interns are chosen from a very competitive applicant pool.
