GTM adidas Originals Intern Review

Provide administrative support with the immediate GTM team (e.g., run data analysis for line manager and other managers within the team). Assisted the immediate GTM team in building successful sell in tools to be used in presentations. Responsible for looking after your designated category (e.g. running trend reports, working closely with the sales teams to ensure they have all the necessary knowledge and support to sell-in effectively). Working with the wider European Business Unit and feeding in trends we spot in the North European Market that can implement change.

I was given lots of responsibility during my placement - which is how I like it! At times I was surprised how much confidence they had in me but it's a nice feeling and one that only makes your confidence grow more when such experienced people give you these opportunities. I fully owned my own category which meant that I was the key contact for the sales team and the European BU for knowledge on products. I led suggestions on how to improve my category. I led discussions with the wider sales team and collected data that helped how we could accelerate the accessories business.

My skills have developed immensely. I have developed a lot of soft skills such as communicating effectively, confidence has improved a lot by being given the chance to present and owning a category whilst only being 21. Other soft skills I've developed is how to create an effective presentation, good time management when having to focus on my category as well as supporting people with any questions that I have. Adidas has made me massively grow.

I was helped a lot during my internship, not just from my line manager but also from the wider Adidas team. Everyone was so helpful and willing to give a lot of advice. They wouldn't let me do anything that they hadn't already fully trained me on and helped me with. They supported me with building excel skills, how to present effectively, how to write an effective email. The way they supported me is something that will stay with me forever.

The company culture is second to none! You will never find as good a culture as Adidas. Everyone is so friendly and approachable and that's a testament for the family Adidas have built. They regularly run office events (e.g. 5-a-side tournaments, guest speakers, giveaways). They are very keen to give back to their employees and this makes such a difference coming into work. Everyone is also ready to help, loads of people from different departments gave me advice and helped me a lot.

Words can't express how much I enjoyed being at Adidas. I had the best time of my life there and the feeling I felt being at Adidas I don't think I'd find at any other company. I had some amazing opportunities such as flying out to the head office in Germany, going to cool places for team meetings, having responsibility for a category which just built my confidence. More than anything, the people meant that I enjoyed this experience.
