Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
The main part of the role is to write requirements for a project and system based on documentation from the client. There is also a large emphasis on model based systems engineering that is used to simplify complicated systems for clients and internally within the company. There are regular interactions with my line manager in relation to the projects and tasks I am set, as well as a weekly team meeting.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
After undertaking sufficient training, I have been given a great amount of responsibility to meet deadlines and ask for help when needed.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
The main skill I have developed so far is the art of writing a good requirement. This has been developed through in depth training and practice with live projects. I have learned how to include systems thinking in a lot of my tasks as well as how to clearly model a system. I have also further developed my data analysis skills using Excel.

There has been an exceptional amount of support and guidance given from all aspects of the company. There is a very positive work culture with the majority of staff happy to help with any issues.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
A very positive and welcoming work culture with a family like atmosphere. However, due to the hybrid working, in person interactions can be limited depending on the office.
