Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Insight into a leading international law firm. This included one week of professional development and exposure to the firm. In the second week, you sit in a market-leading team learning from your designated trainee, associates and partners.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
You learn a substantial amount about the firm, and how it operates as a business. You also learn about trainee applications. With this scheme, you can be fast-tracked to an Assessment Centre for a training contract, in order to get a potential full-time role at the firm.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
During the internship, you develop the key skills that are essential to being a successful trainee at a leading firm. By getting exposure to typical trainee tasks, and then being given feedback, you both develop existing skills, and learn new ones from the tasks you complete.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was excellent. All of the trainees, emerging talent team, associates and partners were so kind, helpful and approachable. This made the scheme even more enjoyable, and allowed you to gain a better insight into the firm.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I greatly enjoyed the scheme! It was full of both personal and professional development for me. I highly recommend to apply if you are interested in a career in commercial law, and eligible.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to CMS
Make sure you submit a detailed online application that demonstrates research and interest in CMS. Do your absolute best on the online assessment, and prepare well for the one-way interview. Then, for your online interview, really try and demonstrate interest in the firm. I would recommend looking at their LinkedIn.
