Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Insight into what solicitors do on a day-to-day basis, specifically those working in the area of insurance and reinsurance. Did a range of legal research tasks, drafting test cases etc.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It helped me decide which career path I wanted to go down;
Through the process, I also came to understand the role of law in running a business, even the intersection between law and scientific research carried out in Universities and research institutions;
Another benefit brought by this programme is an understanding of the diversity of legal work and areas available

Developed communication skills by closely working with a trainee and discussing difficulties encountered when completing assigned legal tasks;
Sat through pre-trial hearings which helped me understand formal legal procedures;
Developed my understanding of commercial awareness and how solicitors can benefit from having strong commercial awareness;
My attention to detail is improved through reviewing POC documents and drafting defences.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The atmosphere is very supportive; My day-to-day supervisor was extremely patient towards any questions I have about how the legal system work. The firm also does a great job with respect to D&I, for instance, they have specific clubs dedicated to ethnic minorities and many different hobbies and interests.
