Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

I shadowed a trainee in the corporate team of the Aberdeen office. I completed tasks for different members of the team including drafting warranty documents, completing research tasks, and completing ancilliary documents ready for companies house.
I also had the oppurtunity to travel to the Edinburhg office where I took part in numeorus workshops regarding commercial awareness and proffessionalism.
At the end of the two week placement I gave a presentation on the work I had completed and my experience at CMS.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

This part of the scheme was very interesting to me and finding out about all of the oppurtunities CMS has to offer made me excited to apply for a vacation scheme and traineeship with them later on.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I developed my knowledge of what commercial awareness is and how to expand this. I also gained valuable information about securing traineeships and vacataion schemes which I had not previously known. The time I spent in the office with the corporate team also confirmed my interest in the sector.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

In both the Edinburgh and Aberdeen office the cukture and atmosphere was busy but still enjoyable and supportive. Everyone was overwhelmingly kind and willing to help and encourage us through our experience.
