Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Worked within the CSIRT team, responsible for managing and mitigating security incidents. Worked with people across the business to identify, respond to, and resolve security incidents.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given responsibility to manage my own time and assigned projects within the team. I also had the opportunity to suggest improvements and future projects.

I had weekly 121 with a mentor within the team and bi-weekly meetings with my manager to ensure that i was progressing ok with any work and to discuss any concerns.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Everyone at the company was super nice and helpful. There are many social opportunities to get to know your colleagues better. The company has a really good atmosphere.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really loved my placement here, the team and wider company were extremely friendly and supportive. There were also multiple opportunities for additional training and to expand/improve my skills whilst here.
