Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I worked as a technology developer intern. My day-to-day work involves interacting with my mentor discussing with my team members and working on solving a problem. Mostly it involves creating a service or application which was achieved by writing production-based coding. We divided the project into two parts, I focused on the front-end and the integration of frontend and backend. I also worked on the encryption and decryption services.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

We worked as a team and everyone had equal responsibility for their areas. It was a vast project which got divided as the time was limited.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Yes, absolutely! I learnt about AWS services, JAVA, springboot and some overviews on GO lang.
I became more confident after the internship because it provided me with a vast exposure for which now I can interact with anyone. I got to interact with so many people from different parts of the globe. Apart from technical skills, I got an opportunity to polish my soft skills and make new connections.

I got enough support from my mentor and from my managers. They were very interactive and easy to reach out to.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Marvellous!
Every one of them was so helpful and friendly. They were inclusive and always willing to interact with us. Diverse work culture, really provides a good work-life balance.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I enjoyed it to the fullest! Got to learn about some of the hot topics in technology which I worked on.
The networking sessions were the ones I always waited for. I participated in the quiz competitions. I had some wonderful colleagues, played many games, tried some new games, and got to learn so much about different countries, their cultures, food etc.
