Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
During my internship, I was involved in several key technical functions, including:
Cluster Management: I gained experience in rebuilding clusters on Apigee, ensuring their optimal configuration and performance.
Traffic Management: I updated traffic templates to optimize the flow of data and improve application performance.
Scheduling Automation: I learned to schedule start and stop times for applications running on instances, which helped in managing resources effectively and reducing costs.
Environment Management: I scheduled start and stop times for various instances and environments, such as production, testing, and development, to ensure efficient resource utilization.
Monitoring and Performance: I utilized Dynatrace to monitor application performance and system health, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
Version Control and CI/CD: I used GitHub for version control and Buildkite for continuous integration and deployment, contributing to a more streamlined development workflow.
Platform Navigation: I learnt how to navigate the Apigee platform efficiently to manage APIs and troubleshoot issues as they arose.
AMI Management on AWS: I learned how to obtain and implement new Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) on AWS to ensure the use of up-to-date resources.
These experiences equipped me with valuable technical skills in cloud computing, monitoring, and resource management, significantly contributing to my professional growth.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I so much enjoyed my internship at Nationwide Building Society, It is a valuable and rewarding experience. I had fantastic time during my internship, leaning great deal and appreciating the supportive environment. Internship at Nationwide was an enriching, educative and informative experience.
