Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My daily tasks included working on projects that I have been assigned which for the duration of my work were me making enhancements to the team's website and creating components that would be incorporated into them. We had daily team calls to go over the current issues and the next projects we were going to work on after the current tasks.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes I was, I was tasked with creating with a time zone clock wall for the team and making enhancements to one of the web components the team made use of. I was also part of the organizers for one of the office events.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Yes I have learnt existing skills and I have developed new ones. For one, I have hands on experience on writing and editing code and also working with remote git repositories and making enhancements to a web page. I have also developed my soft skills through networking with people, preparing presentation slides and making presentations to an audience.

I received a good amount of support, everyone was super helpful and ready to answer any questions I had. During some of my tasks, they were also very willing to connect me to people who would help me best with my problem at the time.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
They have great company culture, it's like being part of one big family. Everyone looks out for you and is always ready to help you with anything you may need, be it a buddy, a mentor or a friend.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really loved my placement, really wish I had more time but there are other things that take precedence at the moment. Being part of a well structured organization with a sense of community was a thrilling experience for me and I am looking forward to working with them again in future.

What advice would you give to others applying to Bank of America
I would say be open minded if you don't know what you want when applying and if you do don't forget to consider other options and how they relate to what you're looking for currently. Ask for help if you need any, there are always people willing to help. Learn about the values of the bank and match them to your personal values. Overall don't be hard on yourself.
