Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Writing morning daily commentaries, produce trade ideas, write python code for index development, model economic data to offer a better insight on economies, network with professionals and attend panel events from senior professionals

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, the responsibilities that I've had included producing materials for client, pitch trade ideas to traders and developing a python script for an index that had been published

I had mentors, managers that helped me a lot through the whole internship. Furthermore, people were very available and happy to have a chat with me most of the times
