Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role included supporting the traders with their applications. Ensuring that the applications ran smoothly and that they were able to execute trades as expected. I also worked on development processes to help preempt application issues and detect things earlier.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes. I felt like a values member of the team and was given tasks that actually had value. I also felt I could ask anyone for help and was not worries to do so.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I developed my machine learning skills working with the GAFE (quant) desk. Another thing I learned is just more generally about finance and how banks work! The people here are so nice and willing to help you learn. I trained a model to price options, I created an Airflow DAG to automate an existing manual process, and supported on other day to day tasks.

Excellent company culture. people were very kind and always willing to help and talk to you. i made some really good connections while here I will take into my future career.
