Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Shadowed and participated in in multiple projects as a Business Analyst, Portfolio Management Officer and Project Manager. Immersed myself into their daily tasks and shadowed meetings proactively by taking minutes that would be sent out to all relevant stakeholders. Additionally, I participated in a project of my own, this required a financial analysis of forecasts which then needed to be presented to senior stakeholders.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given a sufficient amount of responsibility as I was asked to formulate and present information multiple times to senior stakeholders as well as being given the responsibility of creating presentations for suppliers.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
A sufficient amount, when I needed help it was provided and a whole week was spent in the beginning informing us of the necessary information to work at the FCA.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The FCA has a collaborative and supportive culture, valuing open communication, work-life balance, and employee well-being. It fosters a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere where diverse perspectives are celebrated. I was able to enjoy autonomy, recognition, and opportunities for social engagement, creating a positive environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, and personal growth.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. It was incredibly insightful meeting a variety of different people, all within separate divisions and learning about their experiences. Additionally, the tasks I had been given provided me with the opportunity to expand my skillset and learn more about the industry.
