Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Day to day is working independently on projects/tasks contributing to the Risk function. Booking meetings with team members to touch base and present your contributions. Networking with colleagues who have a wealth of experience. Working within different sub divisions to expand understanding and skill set. Intern speaker series hearing from staff focusing on important areas of finance.

Was given responsibility and trusted to meet deadlines and reconvene when I’d completed a task.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I’ve learnt how to use Tableau and developed my excel skills. I’ve strengthened my communication and built confidence in leading meetings and initiating contact with senior members of staff. I’ve developed my analysis skills contributing to the discovery phase of an assurance review.

Incredibly friendly and inviting. Everyone made time for me to share experiences and provide guidance to someone who’s at the beginning of their career.
