Strategy Consulting Intern Review

Focusing on strategy development and market engagement, I work with project teams to deliver business-focused initiatives and strategic recommendations for our clients, giving them the advice, they need to grow and improve their operating performance. I also actively help support clients in putting those recommendations into practice.

I was given responsibility to conduct research and analysis individually within both strategy projects, whilst being guided by the team if I needed help. I was encouraged to maximise participation in meetings and share my ideas.

I have developed my problem solving, data analysis, and communication skills through my project work. I have learnt new skills through Excel and leading our Aon intern project.

I was constantly offered support and guidance from my colleagues, buddy, and manager, regarding both project work and general internship experiences. The project teams were collaborative and encouraged me to ask questions if I had any.

The general atmosphere was welcoming, and the team wanted to get to know the interns right from the start of our programme. There was also collaboration with other interns with our intern project, and in a general social capacity on a day-to-day basis.

I thoroughly enjoyed my internship within the Strategy & Technology Group (STG). I got exposure to the Insurance industry and experienced exactly what a Strategy Consultant does on a day-to-day basis. I was very much involved in project work, developed skills useful for the future, and met and socialised with interns from all over the organisation.
