Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
10 week internship. Each intern is put in a different team within Global Servicing Strategy and asked to deliver a project or several projects within the 10 weeks. Alongside this, there are several activities a week aimed at improving knowledge of the wider business, such as call listening and business unit overviews. The key day to day responsibilities are setting and attending project meetings, managing and analysing data, and communicating to stakeholders.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given more trust and responsibility than I expected to deliver my project end to end. My leader has allowed me to develop whilst providing support where necessary.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture at American Express in Brighton is very global and diverse. Despite this, it is still the organization that most lives and breathes their values of collaboration and leadership that I've ever worked in. Everybody is welcoming and keen to help.
