Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Running of stress tests / exposure reports through company software (training provided).
Review & Critique annual reviews / credit presentations of clients and counterparties.
Completed Intern presentation to give the cohort a better understanding of credit risk.
Aided in preparation of info/data which was to be delivered at Credit Committee each month.
Prepared other ad hoc tasks to support the team and functions of the bank.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, as alluded to I was given daily/weekly stress tests and exposure reports to run as well as various ad hoc tasks that contributed to either a specific project or was included as a consideration going forward at our monthly credit committee meeting.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I greatly enjoyed my internship, I learnt an array of skills that I can put into practice going forward. This ranged from soft skills such as communication/public speaking to practical knowledge enhanced by Bloomberg training days. Moreover, the people at Scotiabank were exceptionally helpful and there was a great group of interns to enjoy the social side with also.
