Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Day to day activities involve writing newsletters while collating news information, coming up with trade ideas, any ad hoc tasks that the desk might need help with, shadowing people and understanding their roles, attending meetings etc.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given many responsibilities but the internship does involve looking for work and asking to do tasks that you could excel at.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I've developed an incredible number of skills during the internship. I learned how different derivatives interact with each other, how to interpret CB communication, look for news that might impact the markets, gauge the markets expectations, excel modelling, Bloomberg etc
